The Center for Industrial and Business Organization
(CIB) was established in 2000 on the basis of Industrial
Economics Institute of Dongbei University of Finance
and Economics (founded in 1993). In compliance with
the universal  industrial
economics (i.e. industrial organization), CIB conducts
the building of the discipline and research activities
with the aim of establishing first-class key research
base committing itself to industrial economics research,
talent cultivation, academic exchange, literature database,
consultancy services and research management innovation.
State Councilor Ms. Chen Zhili, Minister of Education
Mr. Zhou Ji and Minister of Commerce Mr. Bo Xilai
and many other government officials of various levels
inspected CIB since its founding.
CIB is consisted of four divisions: Industrial Organization
Division, Business Organization Division, Industrial
Policy Division and Case Study Division.
In CIB, there are over 10 thousand books of related
fields both in Chinese and other foreign languages,
an industrial economics literature database, a specialized
library, a reading room, and an E-library. Researchers
are provided with offices, visiting associated researchers
with expert apartments. Talents devoted to the research
of industrial economics can commit to their work with
world ¨Cclass research conditions.
CIB has established a lasting collaborative relationship
with prominent universities and research institutes
home and abroad, researchers coming from the U.S.,
the UK, France, Japan, South Korea, etc. J. J. Laffort,
Director of Industrial Economics Institute, University
of Toulouse, France, is Director Emeritus of CIB,
many other distinguished scholars being CIB researchers,
such as Professor J. Tirole, Professor M. Utton, Mr.
Huang Sujian, Mr. Jin Pei, Mr. Zhang Xizhu, etc.
